Hi, I'm Cindy Rella

Yes, the name is real and comes with a story.

It's actually legally Lady Cindy Rella

Kingston has been home to me for over 25 years, more than half my life.

I have always felt at home in Kingston and have never wanted to leave the area, which speaks volumes for what Kingston has to offer with the beautiful beaches, leafy suburbs, great schools, small business and a thriving diverse community, and why it is a sort after location for others to want to move into the area.

Over the years, I have watched Cheltenham & Highett become densely populated with large developments, creating congested streets all while losing some of our beautiful leafy streetscapes and parks.

When Council put the call out to become a part of the Housing strategy project, I jumped at the opportunity to represent my demographic be able to learn how Council decide on developments and give my perspective on what I believed to be appropriate Urban development for Kingston.

I am a small business owner of a fitness facility Rella's Strength & Wellness Hub. My vision in opening the facility was to have a safe space for all to come and move for their health and wellbeing.

My motto is 'Every Body deserves the chance to move' working with all abilities and disabilities within my community.  I am a registered NDIS provider and also registered with Seniors Card for our ageing population 2 demographics I feel really strongly about helping become active.

I understand the importance of the health and wellbeing of our residence; It is my passion to bring more awareness to this with

  • Upgrade of local Sporting Facilities

  • Recreational green spaces to encourage all ages to get outside to be active together

  • More community support for our Seniors, disabled and disadvantaged

  • Fight to save Community facilities within the Cheltenham & Highett Ward

  • Leash Free Dog parks with dog bags provided

Being a small business owner, I have experienced first hand the devastation of COVID. The Council needs to support all small business in Kingston, to allow them to bounce back and thrive once again creating a more vibrant connected community.

  • Updating current shopping strips that are full of joy and appealing for residents to come and shop to support locals over the big suppliers

  • Reducing Rates where possible for businesses.

  • Reducing red tape and fast-tracking permits for footpath trading

Recycling is another focus of mine, we have become a disposable community, I see a great opportunity and need for a more sustainable recycling strategy for Kingston.

  • A need for a transfer station

  • A more sustainable opportunity for hard rubbish

  • Education for the community on the best recycling practices

  • Community recycling drop off bins for household items like batteries, cartridges etc

  • Community vegetable gardens

I have chosen not to letter drop multiple flyers or signage for my campaign as a conscious decision towards waste and recycling and gone with the website for all information of why you should  VOTE 1 RELLA

My campaign is completely self-funded as I didn't want my decision making influenced by anyone else other than my community.  I feel very strongly about this!

I do not align myself with any political party, my reason for running for council is to be the voice and advocate for my community
