Bullying is for Cowards

Bullying is a human trait that I despise more than I can articulate. At some point in our lives we all have been bullied or been the bully.

I grew up with bullying within my family, during my time at school, and in the workplace. There were times I didn't want to exist because of it. It has certainly given me thicker skin, but the scars remain. They now take form of beautiful ink to remind me of who I am and how strong I have become. It became my creative cutting.

The world is getting uglier, there is a cancer of hatred growing at a rapid rate thanks to technology and peoples need to make others feel miserable to make themselves feel good. The 4 agreements are something I try and exist by. It has helped me accept and deal with life.

I sat on my lounge room floor last night sobbing after watching a TV series called 13 reasons Why. Yes Cindy actually watches TV now! The show really made me reflect on past and present situations and how dark and ugly this world has become.

13 reasons Why was about a young girl who was bullied and belittled by egotistical humans at school who thought it was their right to make her feel so insignificant to the point of taking her own life. When in her darkest hour she had the strength to voice what they had done to her and what lead her to ending her pain and made them see what their actions towards her did.

I am far from perfect, I cringe at the thought that in my life I may have made some people feel bad about themselves. Early on in my bullied days I made a promise to myself that I was never going to be a person with an ugly heart. Yes, I have got it wrong from time to time.

44 years on this earth, I have done some pretty epic soul searching. I have had to fight and protect myself from the social vampires that have tried to dig their teeth into my soul and suck it dry. I have been hated on more times than I care to count for being myself and being different. I see and hear it all the time behind my back.
